Richard Platts, Chief Technology Officer

Richard Platts is the AIU’s Chief Technology Officer and is responsible for the implementation of meaningful technological services that serve internal and external stakeholders. Mr. Platts formerly served as the director of technology and innovation at North Allegheny School District where he focused on supporting student learning and efficient district operations by leveraging technology in support of the district’s mission. He previously served as the director of technology at South Park School District, and as a teacher and instructional technology specialist at Upper St. Clair School District. Mr. Platts holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Pittsburgh, and an additional master’s degree from Carnegie Mellon University in public management.  He serves as a CETL course facilitator for CoSN and received the PAECT 2019 CTO of the Year award.
