The Children and Youth Experiencing Homelessness program works with local school districts to support homeless youth in Allegheny County.
The main objectives of the Education for Children & Youth Experiencing Homelessness program are:
- Inform local school districts of their responsibilities to homeless children and youth
- Increase awareness about the needs of homeless children
- Identify and overcome possible educational barriers
- Explain current legislation and policies
- Provide practical tips for working with homeless children

The AIU's Education for Children & Youth Experiencing Homelessness (ECYEH) program serves the following counties:
- Allegheny
- Beaver
- Bedford
- Fayette
- Fulton
- Greene
- Somerset
- Washington
- Westmoreland
