Overview
The AIU offers a wide variety of graduate-level credit courses to educators during three academic terms (fall, spring and summer) throughout the year.
CPE course credits can be used to fulfill the requirements for obtaining Level II Certification, Master's Equivalency and Act 48. Each 3-credit CPE course counts as 90 Act 48 credits.

Q. I don't live in Allegheny County. Am I allowed to enroll in AIU CPE courses?A. Yes, educators across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania are welcome to enroll in AIU CPE courses for the same cost as those who live in Allegheny County.
Q. What is the cost?
A. Most 3-credit CPE courses are $399. In the course catalog linked below, click the course listing to view the exact cost as shown below.
Q. How many graduate credits will I earn per CPE course?
A. Each AIU CPE course simultaneously counts as:

- 3 credits toward the 24 Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE)-approved credits required to be earned within the first six years of teaching as part of the Level II Certification process
- 90 Act 48 hours toward the 180 hours required to be earned every five years
- Additionally, up to 18 AIU CPE credits (six 3-credit courses) can be applied toward a Master's Equivalency Certification
- 3 credits toward the 24 Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE)-approved credits required to be earned within the first six years of teaching as part of the Level II Certification process

Need Transcripts?
Official transcripts contain a complete record of all CPE courses completed through Allegheny Intermediate Unit. Official e-transcripts can be electronically submitted to the Pennsylvania Department of Education upon request and payment of a $10 processing and handling fee.
To have your official e-Transcript sent electronically to the Pennsylvania Department of Education, please follow these instructions:
- Download and save the e-Transcript Request Form.
- Use your Acrobat Reader application to open the PDF Transcript Request form and fill it out.
- Send the completed PDF file as an email attachment to Transcripts@aiu3.net.
- Use the secure online payment button below to submit payment of your transcript fee. Payment may be made with either a MasterCard or VISA credit card. The AIU is unable to accept an American Express card for online payments.
Online payments for an e-Transcript order may take 2-3 business days to process, after which your transcript request will be fulfilled and your transcript sent electronically to PDE.
A copy of your transcript will be sent to your email address as indicated on the transcript request form.
If you need a copy of your e-Transcript sent to another destination (your district's HR department, or other) please include the name and email address of the party to whom we should send the copy in your email message. Thank you.Questions? Contact Linda Muller.
